Skyfall (Blu-ray combo pack)

SkyfallSeeing Skyfall for the second time, I gained a greater appreciation for its affluent style. The first time I was more focused on the story, this time, however, I paid extra attention to the details, and they glisten like a pair of leather shoes after being proficiently polished with a gunmetal grey finish. I still had the same issues with the progression as I did the first go, but they weren’t as jarring. And I was equally as blown away by the glorious, over-the-top action as I was when I saw it in theaters.

What stood out more this time than last was the length of the film. Sure I noticed it was long, but I definitely felt the weight of it more this time. I found my eyes sometimes wandered to the DVD player to see how much was left, and that’s not a good sign.

As for the extras, the DVD has none, but the Blu-ray comes with an hour-long featurette breaking down the various components of the film. It’s information rich, and worth watching for anyone curious about how the film was made. Other than that, there really isn’t much else that stood out to me feature-wise.
